CROP AND WEATHER REPORT

 

 

KENYA

West of the Rift, Kericho experienced dry weather with sunny spells  throughout the week while Bomet was generally dry apart from some 9mm rainfall with Nyamira and Kisii dry. Temperatures averaged 27C maximum and 12C minimum. Nandi continues dry with temperatures averaging highs of 29C and lows of 10C. In East of the Rift, dry weather was experienced in Kiambu and Embu with a few scattered showers recorded in Areas around the Aberdare range of mountains and Muranga/Nyeri/Kirinyaga while Meru reported precipitation of 7mm.  Temperatures averaged 25C maximum and 15C minimum.

EAST USAMBARA

Continue to experience overcast and dry conditions with temperatures averaging maximum 32C and minimum 18C.

Crop: low.

 

WESTERN UGANDA

Drier weather conditions prevail in tea growing areas of Fort Portal, Hoima, Kibale and Bushenyi.  Temperatures averaged maximum 30C and minimum 18C.

Crop:  low.

Mainly cloudy with afternoon and night rainfalls that covered the reporting period.

Crop: remaining high.

 

SRI LANKA

Western region reported bright weather with isolated showers towards the latter part of the week while Nuwara Eliya, Udapussellawa and the Low Growns experienced bright weather throughout the week. Uva region reported bright weather with Haputale sub district reporting isolated showers.

Crop: maintained in Western and Nuwara Eliya while Udapussellawa, Uva and in the Low Growns both Ruhuna and Sabaragamuwa showed a decline.
