CROP AND WEATHER REPORT

 

 

KENYA:

In West of the Rift, Kericho sunny conditions prevailed in the mornings followed by partly cloudy afternoons; rainfall was recorded at 18.6mm but waned to 8mm and 11mm in Bomet  and Kisii/Nyamira respectively. Temperatures averaged maximum of 26C and minimum of 11C. Nandi reported minimal precipitation recorded at 3.3mm(weekly total 46.8mm) with temperatures averaging highs of 31C and lows of 9C. In East of the Rift, Kiambu received 10mm rainfall with Embu/Meru reporting only a few scattered showers while Muranga/Nyeri/Kirinyaga experienced drier conditions. Temperatures averaged maximum 25C and minimum 15C.

Crop: low.    

                                        

TANZANIA:

 

East Usambara:

Rainfall continued to wane recording only 6.8mm with temperatures averaging maximum of 26C and minimum of 23C.

Crop: improving. 

 

Southern Highlands - Mufindi, Njombe & Mbeya:

Precipitation was reported at 49mm with temperatures averaging maximum of 22C and minimum of 12C.

Crop: improved.

 

WESTERN UGANDA:

Precipitation continue to wane in the tea growing areas of Fort Portal and Bushenyi recording 16mm and 11mm respectively while Kibale and Hoima reported more rainfall and recorded 23mm and 16mm respectively. Temperatures averaged maximum 27C and minimum 17C.

Crop: higher in and around Fort Portal but other areas low.
